The AVC Lobster Science Centre is pleased to announce the upcoming Lobster Science Workshop which will be held in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island on July 28 -30, 2004. Join us on Wednesday evening, July 28th, at the Meet & Greet where finger food, hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be served; what a great way to start the workshop! The workshop is designed to bring together fishermen, processors, dealers and others involved in the lobster industry including government representatives, scientists and researchers. There will be three major sessions; environmental sciences, fishery management, and a session on some of the new lobster health research projects conducted at the AVC Lobster Science Centre. During each session, you will hear from renowned biologists and researchers about topics that are related to the lobster industry. An open-floor discussion will follow the afternoon session allowing participants to contribute to the workshop and help identify important issues. A cash bar will follow the conclusion of the lobster science workshop and the evening will conclude with a banquet dinner where, of course, lobster will be king! Make sure to stick around for the dinner as Dr. Jim Stewart, Scientist Emeritus at DFO will be the keynote speaker. Dr. Stewart's point of view on lobster health research is sure to be captivating and very interesting for all participants. Finally, a round of golf is scheduled for Friday morning, while tours of the Lobster Science Centre at the Atlantic Veterinary College are available Friday morning and afternoon. |
