Whitney obtained her B. Sc (Hon) from the University of Prince Edward Island, majoring in Biology. While at UPEI her research focused on assessing the impacts of anthropogenic activities on the diets of Island red foxes during the winter months; and involved examining abundance and distribution, as well as habitat and dietary preferences of Island waterfowl. She joined AVCLSC in May, 2010, as a M.Sc. student under the co- supervision of Drs. Spencer Greenwood and Scott McBurney, working on trichomoniasis, a disease which has been detected in purple and American goldfinches in the Maritimes. |
