Adam obtained his BSc in Biology (2004) from the University of Prince Edward Island , where he focused on conservation biology and ecology. Shortly thereafter, he completed an Advanced Diploma in Sustainable Aquaculture (2006) from The Marine Institute of Memorial University. While completing this program, he had the opportunity to complete a research thesis on The Sensory Evaluation of Mytilus edulis Under Modified Atmospheric Conditions. The opportunity then arose for Adam to work in the aquaculture setting on salmon and rainbow trout farms, but also was employed as First Mate onboard local lobster vessels. Adam joined the AVC Lobster Science Centre in February of 2007.
