The student will be required to work collaboratively, as a member of the research team for the project Integrated Studies of the Effects of Bitter Crab Disease on Atlantic Canadian Snow Crabs. This project is funded primarily by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of
Canada with additional support from the Canadian Centre for Fisheries Innovation, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (US), and Fish, Food and Allied Workers (Newfoundland Labrador). The student will develop a thesis, complete graduate courses, present results at regional, national or international meetings, and publish results in high quality journals.
Interested students are expected to have a BSc degree (or equivalent) in biology. The position is available in early 2010, funded for 2 years. Applicants must submit: (i) letter to indicate their research interests, appropriate course work and related experience; (ii) university transcripts; and (iii) resume.
