Confederation Bridge, a globally recognized engineering
marvel, spans the Northumberland Strait between the town of Borden-Carleton,
Prince Edward Island and Cape Jourimaine, New Brunswick. The 12.9
km (9 mile) bridge is one of the longest continuous marine span
bridges in the world providing safe, reliable access to our Island
and the rest of the country. The crossing takes approximately 10
minutes. Directions from the bridge to Charlottetown: follow Route
1 east from Borden-Carleton to Charlottetown which is approximately

By Ferry: Northumberland
Ferries travels between Wood Islands, Prince Edward
Island and Caribou, Nova Scotia from early May to mid-Deceber.
The crossing takes approximately 75 minutes.
Directions from
the ferry terminal to Charlottetown: follow Route 1 west from
Wood Islands to Charlottetown which is about a 50 minute drive,
or 61 km (38 miles).
